After graduating with a Law degree from Swansea University in 2012, I spent a year working as a Paralegal but was quickly disappointed to learn that something was missing for me in this role. I decided I needed to make a change so joined Attivo Group as a Client Engagement Manager and at the time, I had no idea what a Financial Planner was.
My new role offered me the opportunity to spend time with clients, introducing them to the firm whilst generating new opportunities through networking and I soon realised that the potential for a hugely rewarding career in Financial Services was right in front of me.
I studied hard in my spare time to achieve my Diploma in Financial Planning, fully funded and supported by Attivo Group. I qualified in October 2017 and was offered a role as a Financial Planner with full training provided. I continued to take Advanced Financial Planning exams periodically and qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner. I now have over 130 clients and in December 2019 I was delighted to achieve Fellowship of the PFS, the highest level of qualification.
The opportunities in the Financial Services industry are enormous and I have more responsibility than I could ever have imagined, with clients placing their trust and financial futures in my hands. It is challenging and demands a work ethic second to none, but I can honestly say that becoming a Financial Planner is the best decision I have ever made.
