Having studied Maths, Economics and Physics at A Level, my intention was to read Economics at university. After a summer of internships, I realised that going to university may not be the only way up the employment ladder, particularly as my main motivator was the prospect of a higher starting salary.
To my surprise, companies were very welcoming to the idea of a school leaver and I decided to pursue a role with Attivo Group given their attractive development programme – the Attivo Group Academy. In 2017 joined the Business Submissions Team which instructs the sale and purchase of investments with our online providers.
After competing some of my R0 exams, I was promoted into the Senior Financial Planning Technical Support Team where my role was to ensure our Financial Planners had all the information they needed for their client meetings.
I continued studying hard and with material provided and exam costs covered by Attivo Group, I obtained my Diploma in Financial Planning in 2019 and qualified as a Paraplanner. My role is to research and prepare client reports and identify the most appropriate products to meet our clients’ financial needs.
Since then, I have continued to focus on my studies and despite experiencing delays to my exam schedule due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I have since passed a further 5 Advanced Papers (even sitting two in one month). In January 2021 I was delighted to receive the news that I have obtained Fellow status of the Personal Finance Society. At 21-years-old I am one of the youngest people to qualify as a Fellow.
For me, the best bit about working here is the sense of community. I work in the Cheltenham office where there are plenty of people similar in age to me and we even have our own football team, so I definitely made the right decision! Attivo Group is a great place to start a career in the competitive world of Financial Services.
