“I chose to do the apprenticeship because of the structured learning and additional support that would be available”

I have been working at Attivo Group since October 2018 when I joined the Platform Submission Team. It was my first job after graduating from university and one of the main reasons I applied was because of the career progression opportunities.

I started the Financial Adviser Apprenticeship in Spring 2019. I chose to do the apprenticeship because of the structured learning and additional support that would be available – from my peers, the University of Gloucestershire, and Bespoke Training Solutions.

We spent one day a week at the University of Gloucestershire, which meant you could fully dedicate time and concentrate on your studies. Our course leader, Clair Vincent, was absolutely fantastic and so helpful throughout. We also had sessions with lecturers from Bespoke Training Solutions, Jeff and Luiza, who were really knowledgeable. Having a group of fellow apprentices to go to if you were stuck on a particular point was great, as was being able to celebrate our successes together. The exam schedule was very challenging at times, with some back-to-back, and required you to put the work in!

Since gaining my Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning I have moved into the Paraplanning team, and I am now writing suitability reports. I have passed one Advanced Paper and aim to sit the rest over the next 12 months to complete the Advanced Diploma. My long-term aim is to become a Chartered Financial Planner.
